I pitched the story below to The Ryersonian back in November 2008 after reading a really disturbing statistic about how little Canadians know about the First World War in general. I got to speak to some really great profs – Ryerson’s history professor Arne Kislenko spent a lot of time talking to me about the issue. I like to think this problem also matters to other people my age.
